There’s no place hotter on this earth than a ball tournament in the South during July.  It felt like 1000 suns were beating down on us (I almost typed 1000 sins which is close to how many I committed in my heart against the umps) so imagine my envy when I saw our friend, R., with this sideline throne.   While the rest of us peasants were scorching, he was enjoying shade which eased his discomfort.  Have you ever?

Boy Three is still in his District All Star Tournament that began last week.  We’ve been playing great and winning – until tonight. 

Tonight was bad.

Real bad.

We lost our mojo around our defensive half of the third inning.  That was about the time the home plate ump decided he would call strikes as balls and the field ump traded the word ‘out’ for ’safe’.  The boys fell apart and this mama crumbled right with them.  Luke was more than happy to go to the concession stand to buy me some popcorn to stuff my mouth before I …

We aren’t doing any of these.
 
We’ll be spending the evening at the ball fields as Boy Three plays in an All-Star Tournament. Now lest you think I am complaining (as I’ve been known to do when ball season gets overwhelming) I have to tell you I LOVE a great tournament.

The Girl has wanted her ears pierced for quite some time but the opportunity just never presented itself. {Translation:  Claire’s is typically overrun with people and I’m not one to stand in line for non-essentials.}
