Remember Randall – October 6
If you’ve been praying for Randall and Jenny Black, then you know they traveled to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota last Friday for further testing on his condition. Our hope was for the doctors to find another diagnosis rather than CJD. The heartbreaking news is that according to the physicians there, Randall’s is a textbook case of this devastating disease.
This is obviously not the news we wanted but if anything, this is a call to redouble our prayers. The Lord just will not let me rest from praying for the miraculous. There has been scripture after scripture put before my eyes that speaks of divine healing. Our Believing God Bible Study just finished Week Two on having faith that God still works wonders by recounting numerous stories of spontaneous healing. I just do not feel released in my spirit to give up on this possibility based on my present prayers and reading. There is just too much of His Word contradicting man’s wisdom. Given the two options, I choose God.
Until He confirms from the heavenlies that His will is to take Randall home, let’s not allow this grim outlook to cause us to succumb to doubt. I leave you with my devotional reading from The Daily Light on the Daily Path. If you will pray these scriptures on behalf of this family, I would again appreciate your placing your name as well as the state where you live in the comments so they can have a tangible sense of your intercession:
“The Lord God Omnipotent reigns! I know that you can do everything. The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?” There is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it? Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord. ” The He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. ” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Mighty God. All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed,…for there are more with us than with him.”
Rev. 19:6; Job 42:2; Luke 18:27; Daniel 4:35; Isaiah 43:13; Mark 14:36; Matthew 9:28-29; Matthew 8:2-3; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 28:18; Psalm 20:7; 2 Chronicles 32:7
Yes, Lord, I echo and pray those scriptures above.
Amen, so be it done according to Your will and mighty power!

Father, I am praying in agreement with my sister, Lisa. I know that You are smack dab in the middle of this. This is not a surprise to You. You are not too weak to act as we are. We are asking for You to show up big in Randall’s life. We stand an applaud You for WHO You are. We know that You are fully able. Thank You, Father for hearing my prayer and working everything out for Randall’s good.

Jehovah-Rapha,
You are the God who heals ALL our diseases! You are the Balm in Gilead and I pray you would be the healing balm that this family and this man needs. Father I ask for you to heal Randall completely in an amazing way that you would be glorified and the lost around him would be brought to a saving knowledge of you.

Oh how I am praying. I was thankful to read at the end of week 2 that every day was written in His book before one came to pass.
I have learned some really cool stuff out of an over used psalm that is easy to take for granted (psalm 23). We can walk through the valley and that shadows don’t hurt us. The shadow of a dog can not bite us…
then that storms start on the mountain but there is calm in the valley. I just loved that. I am praying for that peace in the midst of great difficulty.

Lord, we believe in you- you are the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). It is here that we begin and end our requests to you. We will not stop believing you will heal Randall. Lord, as the disciples asked, help our unbelief. Pour out your Mighty healing touch. Precious Jesus, we thank you in advance. Amen

To all the dear friends that we have– Words can not come close to expressing how much reading your prayers has meant to me, Randall and my girls. When I read that Jeannie from TX wakes up in the middle of the night and prays for our family, tears filled my eyes. Just knowing that so many people in so many places love us and care enough to pray so much is overwhelming. Through this trial I have felt the prayers surrounding me in a way that I have never felt before. There have been many days when I felt that I should be falling apart and breaking down and I wasn’t and I could just feel the prayers lifting me up and holding me there.
Love to all. And thanks Lisa for keeping this one going. You cant stop blogging until ……..MIRACLE
