Community Call Out
UPDATE: Oh, how I love my church. You turned out and filled not one but several cars with food to serve tornado victims and relief workers. THANK YOU! If you weren’t able to help this time, be assured there will be plenty more opportunities in the days and weeks to come. More info at church tomorrow!
This is an announcement for our community churches and any individual who would like to help.
(I’m assuming you’ll know if you are in my community :)
The Operations Center responsible for feeding work crews and families after the tragic tornadoes here have just requested help with dinner tomorrow – Saturday. There is plenty of meat but the center needs side dishes and desserts. If you can help, please prepare your dishes and deliver them to our church Fellowship Hall by 9:30 a.m. Make sure it is in a container that does not have to be returned. We will deliver the food in one vehicle to prevent unnecessary traffic into the area. Leave me a note or call if you have any questions. Also, please call anyone you can think of to get the word out…
For those of you elsewhere, please keep the families who have experienced so much loss in your prayers. For more information on the devastation that struck way too close to home (less than 5 miles as the crow flies), go here.
Thank you!
Wow. I am so very sorry. Praying for your community and all the others hit by such devastation.
Oh Lisa, I didn’t read your blog in time to get food there this morning but Brian and I will definately be helping out. Thanks so much for everything you have done. Alot of these people are close and dear friends of ours and many more are people we have simple known for a long time. There are no words to describe the devastation.
Hi Lisa,
I am praying for your community and all those who lost their homes or a loved one. I am so thankful you and your family are OK.
Blessings,
Julie
Wow, it has been incredible to read the stories and hear the news, including that one baby they stumbled across and realized was alive.
What an incredible way God is using you to be “Jesus with skin on” to those suffering the devastation.
