Judging by the sound of crickets chirping, I’m the only one not out to dinner?
I hope you girls aren’t reading this because if you are, it means you are not having a delicious dinner with your sweetie in a restaurant without a large, red-headed clown out front.
As for me and my house, we are staying home, saving our money, and watching Lost. And in the meantime, I’m trying to ignore the Thin Mints calling my name from the freezer. Yes, I froze them thinking that would keep me from eating them as easily. Turns out, they are an ice cold HEAVEN. How entirely appropriate that I should be working on a bible study of flesh versus spirit. In my own translation of Paul’s struggle with sin I could add, “the cookies I don’t want to eat I eat, and the cookies I do want to eat, I eat.” As of right now, I’m not feelin’ the whole overcoming thang.
But, it’s Valentine’s Day. I’m sitting here cuddled with my family and life just doesn’t get any better. And if I decide it could get just a tad better with a mouth full of Thin Mints, I won’t beat myself up too badly.
It’s my First Place Leader I’m scared of. Have mercy, J.?
Have a great night!
Oooh….thin mints only increase in delicious goodness when they are frozen!! I think it’s written on the box somewhere…..
Enjoy your evening!

YUM!! Thin Mints!! Why, Oh Why have I not encountered one of those sweet little girls yet?? I NEED some Thin Mints!
We are home too but I’m loving it.
I’m still in the ‘feeling yucky’ stage of pregnancy… going out just wasn’t appealing to me! So my sweet man picked us up some SubWay!
Enjoy your night in!! (and your thin mints! I’ll try not to covet!)
Not only am I NOT out to dinner right now, my hubby is working LATE on Valentine’s Day.
Lucky for both of us, we don’t care!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
My 15 year-old daughter thinks we are the most pathetic people on earth because we are not heading out to a romantic dinner. The crazy thing is, I feel I have to defend this decision!? Personally, I am looking forward to eating the chicken tenders and fries I am having her cook for us. HA! Happy Valentine’s day.

I don’t have a hubby or a honey to spend this Valentine’s Day with, maybe next year. In the meantime, I wish I had those mints in my freezer :)
We aren’t out either! We usually go out a week or so before Valentine’s day to avoid the crowds. However, this year, we are all home…sick! I feel like I have my own Pharmacy going on my microwave. We are watching Lost too!
Happy Valentine’s Day
Yeah! You better be scared of her!LOL
I am home too! mostly for the economical reasons you mention, lol!
Glad you’re having a nice cuddly time. We always stay home on Val Day and enjoy each others company.
I used to always tell myself that keeping the cookies in the freezer was a deterrent, but I no longer try to fool myself. They are only a deterrent to the rest of the family, so all the more for me.
PS Thanks to Mr. Jones I am justified in my tardiness habit.
I am happily curled up on the couch with my family to. I’m not a big Valentines person. I’d rather go out on another night when its not so crazy.
Mmm, I can’t wait for our GS cookies to come…but you’re not going to believe this, we still have TM from last year in the freezer!
I invited my husband to go out to lunch (much easier for us–don’t have to find childcare), but he already had a “date” with a colleague! How’s that for stood up on Valentines??
Thin mints I can resist, but Tagalongs…oh have mercy!
Happy Valentines Day!
all my 25-year-old son wanted for v-day was thin mints…yeah GSA…
had any dreams lately…
waiting to hear…
read C.S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity today and he talked about 3 ways in chapter on morality that God speaks
#1 – conscience…we know that one
#2 – dreams—you are kidding me!!!!! i thought to myself…i have to go tell Lisa…he did say good dreams though, not prom dress saving the world from flaming arrows from an enemy dreams
Happy Valentine’s Day Lisa!
Yes I was out for dinner with my sweetie and my sweeties! We all went out for valentines day! You are so right, freezing makes those mints so much better! YUM!
We were watching Lost as well but ended up spending over three hours gathering financial info for college deadlines for financial aid! BUT we are doing something tomorrow. Hope the mints were good. I am so with you on the mind games you play with yourself to keep away from the stuff! LOL!
Yes, I watched Lost. It was awesome. I can’t believe Sayid is working for Ben now!!What the crap??LOL
o.k.. could we not post comments about Lost b/c some of us were not able to watch it?! As for being scared of the First Place leader, I can take her! Just don’t tell her that I’ve had 7 tag a longs already!!!!
Stayed home too.
Sniffles and sneezes,
Happy V Day! Yeah right.
Go for the thin mints!
Here’s my romantic Valentine week: M-Upward pizza party, T-supper at the BCM followed by Bible Study, W-church Valentine banquet, TH-BCM Valentine banquet, F-hubby leaves town for the weekend. Sigh. But he did get me my very favorite candy, Lindt truffles!
The First Place leader is in NC with the grandbaby praying for the strength to not over indulge. Going to The Daniel Boone Inn for dinner which according to the son has nothing legal….did do TaeBo with the daughter in law this morning. I’ll do my study before we go and hope greed and lust don’t take over when I see those cat head biscuits.
Oh yeah, frozen Thin Mints are the best!! Ours are long gone.
Our Valentine’s was my daughter’s last BB game and then team dinner at CiCi’s pizza. Got home in time to do the family cards & little gifts. Husband made it back & was nearly catatonic, he was so tired. So this was the least memorable Val Day we’ve ever had.
But I hear Papa John’s has heart-shaped pizzas through the weekend. So maybe we’ll order pizza tonight and enjoy finally being together again.
Did that LOST episode confuse you as much as it did me? I’m afraid they’re trying to make it too crazy!
My husband has been friends with Tammy and Tony for years (First Woodstock.) I’ve met them several times but Tammy and I connected when I saw her on CWO.
We were hoping to get to spend some time with them while they were in Augusta but it didn’t work out.
Maybe we should plan some kind of CWO bloggers convention, so we could all meet!
Oh yeah, did I tell you about the time in high school, when my friend and I ate a whole box of thin mints, trying to decide if the mint was in the cookie or in the chocolate!?! Of course, those were the days when I could eat a sleeve of TM and not give it a second thought!
BTW, according GS, it’s in the chocolate. I think I still have the letter in my Senior scrapbook!
Lisa, you are not alone I never go out to dinner on Valentine’s day b/c my Birthday is the 13 one day before so I always miss out on V-day . On my B-day we go out to dinner and on Valentine’s day we saty home and my husband always gives me something small like a card or candy b/c of my birthday was the day before so life is not fair!! sniff , sniff LOL!! marina
You crack me up and I think you just sold me a heating pad.
;o)
I LOOOVE cold chocolate. And isn’t it amazing how the more we try NOT to think about it, that’s all we can think about? Grr…
