Spoiler Alert
Y’all know you aren’t going to visit around here on Friday and not hear some Lost commentary. Hope you’ve watched it or you’re seriously going to get way too much information from this post.
As for last night’s episode, I just have one word.
AARON!
I have to give a shout out to my friend Linda at 2nd Cup who theorized Aaron would have a greater part on the show than we imagined. Oh, Linda. You brilliant woman, you! Have you been reading message boards and not telling me? I refuse to let myself go there as I lack the discipline to not stay there for HOURS reading everyone’s ideas on everything from the origin of the Island to how the Black Rock got there. All I gotta say is there are a lot of people out there not feeding their children or getting their laundry done. Kudos that they have something to show for their time-wasting.
But hey, nothing wrong with wishing The Theorists would bring their message boardiness here instead of my having to go there. How awesome if they’d just drop me their inside scoop so I could have all the Lost Thunder. That’s just like wanting great abs without the situps, huh? These people WORK to gain the Lost Knowledge and I’d say they aren’t going to give it away without some effort on my part.
Isn’t that a stinky life concept?
Ooooh, boy. Y’all are totally getting the stream-of-conciousness version of my recap today so let’s get back to Aaron. Obviously we found out Kate’s mom refused to testify against her at the trial hence her taking a plea deal that would force her to stay in California on probation for 10 years. But then the kicker is the ‘he’ Kate will later refer to when meeting with Jack is Claire’s son Aaron. BUT, Aaron calls Kate ‘Mom’ and she is telling everyone he is her son. So what in the world happened to Claire? Is she dead? Does she think she’s dying and ask Kate to raise Aaron for her? Or worse, does Jack have something to do with Claire’s death causing him to be too ashamed to face Aaron? (Lisa just reminded me Claire is Jack’s half-sister) And what’s up with the fake rescue story? Only 6 survivors who made it from the ocean to the beach?
ARRRGGGHH!! It’s just too much!!
But then we also have to wonder if the helicopter pilot was Ben’s ‘man on the boat’ since he didn’t return to the freighter with Sayid and Desmond. Did he take them to some unknown location for Ben to begin his mojo on them? Hmmmm….
I also want you to remember something Ben said in the previous episode when he is takiing the bullet out of Sayid. He asked him to remember what happened the last time he thought with his heart instead of his head. Sayid replied, “that’s what you used to coerce me into all this’…. So, obviously Nadia has something to do with Ben’s power over Sayid.
As usual, there are new questions to replace the ones that are answered. Still freaking out to know who’s in the coffin. Still want to know who the last of the Oceanic Six is. (I’m assuming Aaron counted as #5) I’m guessing the one in the coffin is #6?
Double ARGGGGHHHH!
Fire away….what are y’all thinking is going on??
Aaron…it didn’t register until today who Aaron was!!
Did you catch Jack’s testimony that only eight survived the crash of 815? And then Kate’s comment later that she’d heard him tell the story so often that it sounded as if he was actually beginning to believe it?
It’s all a cover up. Hurley asking Jack if he’d told anyone; obviously someone has a hold on the survivors. Maybe they got off the island only with the promise they wouldn’t tell about the others they left behind?
No wonder Jack tells Kate they need to go back…maybe to get everyone else? Or to get out from under the lies?
And Aaron…maybe he reminds Jack of those he left behind? And isn’t Clare his half sister?
As for the coffin, I think maybe it’s Sayid. If he’s working for Ben, then Kate et al. would have reason to distrust him and consider him a betrayer, particularly if they do not know Ben’s blackmailing him.
I don’t think we know yet what circumstance Ben refers to when he speaks of Sayid thinking with his heart and not his head.
Ooops…sorry for the long comment. I’ll be checking back to see everyone else’s theories!
Ok, I think the whole “time/space continum” is involved. For Kate to have birthed Aaron, she would have had to have been pregnant in Australia just as Claire was… and everyone knows she wasn’t, right? Also, Kate’s mom said for 4 years she had been given 6 more months and implied she had been holding on to see her one more time… Aaron was NOT 4 for sure. It doesn’t add up! Also, wondered if the idea that Jack is actually Aaron’s uncle (Claire being Jack’s half sister, unbeknownst to both of them) could play some role in why he doesn’t want to see Aaron. Hmmm?
I’m just as flipped out as you! I have never been so stunned at the end of a show!!! AAHHHH!!!
I know it’s not Christ-like, but WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE JUST KILL BEN??? (Lord, forgive me for that… )
Ok, I think I’m done for now…
Ok, so that was the show on last night while I was on the eliptical! So, they are not LOST anymore?? Where does the show go from there then? LOL
We are all arguing here at our place about Aaron. Is it a name’s sake because something happened to him and Claire? He does seem too young to be Aaron if four years have passed. Could it be Sawyers and that is why Jack doesn’t want to see him? Why all that pregnancy stuff with Sawyer if that isn’t a possiblity as well. Maybe they don’t know if it is Sayers or Jack’s…One thing is for sure, calling it LOST is so accurate. I am more lost all the time! I am wanting just a few pieces to fall in place! Throw us a bone!
You have LOST your mind!
I don’t think 4 years had to have passed. Remember, Kate’s mom was sick well before she was on the plane. All she’d said was the doctors have been giving her 6 months for the past 4 years – I’m thinking that included time before the accident.
But – how much time passed while they were on the island? No more than a few months. Definitely not enough for her to have a baby Aaron’s age unless she was pregnant before she got on the plane. However, if she never claimed she had a baby of her own but that she is raising one of the children of the survivors then that would still make sense.
Y’all are right though…it could be a namesake. Or it could be her own baby not born until she returned home. BUT – how long could she have been home before her trial would have begun? You wouldn’t think Kate would have run free long enough to have a baby that old?
Oh I’m so confused. :)
I was thinking about you today!!! :)
I think that is definitely Claire’s Aaron. But Kate says he’s her son so that the prospective adoptive parents who WOULD have met Claire after the flight can’t have a hold on him. Jack must be either responsible for Claire’s death or found out that Aaron is his nephew and is having some dad-angst-freaking-out issues about it and can’t bear to see him.
I’m dying to know who the other two are plus the Oceanic Six to make the “eight survivors.” Clearly the world knows that two initially survived but then “died.” Who are those two??
And I guess technically Desmond and Juliette could be back on land since they weren’t survivors, right? I want Penny and Desmond together.
Oh, the whole namesake idea has just thrown me for a wide loop! I have a column in our newspaper tomorrow, and believe it or not … on the religion page … I wrote about LOST!!!
I’m thinking that. . . .

Ya know what got me! I can’t remember Sawyer and Kate being worried she was pregnant! I looked at my husband and said “WHAT”! Thursday is too far away!
I gave you an award because you most definitely blog with a purpose
This is one blog that has totally LOST me. Can you believe I have never watched one episode.
Tammy
My theory is that the “Oceanic 6” (excluding Aaron) had to do something immoral or unethical to get off the island. That’s why it eats at Jack, because since we’ve seen a glimpse into his future, he loses it and screams at Kate, “we’ve got to go back!”
I believe that Aaron is Claire’s son and somehow Kate brought him back.
I can’t figure out that whole time difference thing. The show is true to it’s name, it keeps you LOST!
BTW, how did I miss the fact that Jack and Claire are related? That’s news to me.
I’m LOST…never seen the show…
