Help Me Build My Resource Library!
If you’ve noticed, there is an area on my new navigation bar titled Resources. I have my own list but I am curious about yours. I am primarily looking for Ministry Wife websites and/or books that you love. However, since being a great ministry wife is completely tied to being a great Christian, feel free to mention your other favorites as well.
Can’t wait to see your suggestions!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! your new look, Lisa. The colors and everything are beautiful!
I am not a minister’s wife (but I do pray for her and you and others-does that count?). Here are a few resources that I think are musts for everyone:
“Captivating” by John and Stasi Eldredge
“Get out of that Pit” and “When Godly People do Ungodly Things” by Beth Moore
I love books by Elisabeth Elliot and Corrie ten Boom. They are wise women in the faith and have wonderful suggestions for living and raising children and being God’s child.
I have countless others in my library upstairs. I will check them out and add more later, if I find some must haves.
Love your heart! Thanks for praying for Ethan. I will update when I hear more.
With love,
holly

War of Words – by Paul Tripp
I can’t say enough about this book. It helps not only with communication, but also to get to the heart issues that every one of us deal with. It would be a great resource!
Lisa – I don’t know if you’ll find this useful for your list (and it’s perfectly okay if you don’t! LOL) but I recently launched a resource/journal based blog for new Christians called A Whisper of Grace. I’m a newbie Christian and could never really find what I was after on the myriad of Christian websites/blogs (yours excepted, of course, LOL) and then one day thought to myself, hang on, there are probably other newbies who feel the same way. Talk about a mustard seed because from then on it became a sort of mini-obsession to get the blog up and running :P
The site is still pretty small (less than a month old) but I really feel called to develop this. I’m brutally honest regarding my experiences with newfound faith which I hope resonates with the people who need it to.
So yeah, the sidebars are filled with resources and then there’s the personal faith journey stuff as regular blog posts. I’ll be watching this comment section too, because I’m always on the lookout for new links to add to the list :)
Cheers,
Lizzie ♥

As far as ministry wives’ books…
“Nice Girls Don’t Change the World” by Lynn Hybels and “Being a Minister’s Wife and Being Yourself” by Nancy Pannell
Ministers’ wives moving… “After the Boxes are Unpacked” by Susan Miller
Favorite Christian growth books…
Praying the Names of God by Ann Spangler and of course tons by Bethie.
Great idea to have a list! Can’t wait to see what others give you!
Hey Lisa,
Thanks for asking for our input.
For Pastor’s wives:
“High Call High Privilege”
by Gail MacDonald.
Excellent book. I attended a pastor’s conference af couple of years ago with my hubbie and they gave each of us a copy. I was the only one in the room of about 100 women who had already read it. The hostess of the wives conference said, “she wrote exactly what I would want to say to others.”
For all wives (or those who hope to be a wife someday):)
“Love and Respect”
by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs
This is such an eye-opening book about how husbands and wives relate to each other.
That’s all I’ll share for now.
I’ve lurked for a long time and don’t comment much but I wanted to leave these two for your list if you deem them worthy. =)
It’s A Wonder Life by Terrie Chappell is an excellent resource for Pastor’s wives and
A Wife’s Purpose by Cindy Schaap is excellent for a wife or someone hoping to be.
I love reading your blog and your spotlight was so much fun
Hope this list helps. If I remember any more I will add another comment if that’s okay.
