More Stuff For You!
I mentioned over the weekend I am in the midst of reading two really fun books that do not make my brain feel like it will soon explode. (Yes, that is a compliment.) They are by Tyndale House author Megan DiMaria and are called Searching for Spice and Out of Her Hands.
I’m only 3/4ths complete with Spice but something is happening already that I didn’t anticipate: I’m actually looking for ways to be sweeter to Luke. This book sneaks up on you by helping you realize how easily the rhythms of life will cause marital relationships to drift in different directions if we aren’t intentional in nurturing them. Nobody ever set about to neglect their husband or wife but it can easily happen when we aren’t looking. Thankfully God puts flashing signs in our midst – like this book for one – to remind us of what is at stake.
Megan has generously offered three copies of each book to give away. To enter, simply leave a comment telling the name of the book you are currently reading. I love hearing what’s on your nightstand! It would also be great if you would go say hi to Megan on her blog, A Prisoner of Hope.
The six winners will be announced Friday evening, November 14th.
Yay!! I just love giving y’all stuff!
Great give-aways!!!
I am currently reading… Warrior Chicks by Holly Wagner.
Hugs,
Debbie
I’ll have to be honest. I’ve run out of books to read. I buy a massive stack at the beginning of each year when the bookstore is having a sale and am looking forward to buying again.
The library near my house stocks very few Christian books.
I love seeing what others are reading, too.
I’m currently reading Men are Like Waffles, Women are Like Spaghetti by Bill and Pam Farell and Living Life on Purpose by Lysa TerKeurst.
I’m reading Sacred Marriage. I have just started it, but so far it’s great — really speaking to me.
I am reading The Wild Goose Chase by Mark Batterson.
I’m not reading any book right now. I am busy reading blogs that are full of christian inspiration, like yours!
In case I haven’t told you, I enjoy your blog very much. By your picture, you look like a barrel of laughs, and that just makes life so much easier.
Have a great day and a blessed week. Michelle
My nightstand is full of books and I usually rotate about four so I am never without a book…God forbid!
Here’s a couple: Moses by Chuck Swindoll (wow!) A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and Photography (something or other) by Scott Kelby.
Some of my favorite reads are how to be a better wife though. Working on our marriages, as you say has to be regular and deliberate.
I’m reading The Secret’s In The Sauceby Linda Evans Sheperd and Eva Marie Everson.
I’m reading Breaking Free by Beth Moore. Great read and some really interesting insights… great for a women’s bible study… our group meets on Friday mornings. Love it!
I also love my FireBible from GPH. The footnotes are so challenging.
God Bless!

I’m finishing The Shack (wanted to see what all the buz was about… my personal jury is still out on that one.) And, I just started finished the Christian Fiction book, The Bachelor’s Bargain (for the 4th time!) It’s a great book, and I like to re-read familiar books when life gets too busy to be able to focus on what I’m reading.
On my nightstand is a book about parenting a tween girl (I think the name is “Girls”, and an author’s copy of a book about ADHD parenting). Hoping to start on those soon!

I’d love to enter. As for what I’m reading, I just finished The Shack.
I am reading Sacred Marriage-for our couples’ Bible Study at church right now. It is really blessing our marriage. I read The Shack while on a trip this weekend. THe best book I read this year was Same Kind of Different As Me. It will change you.
