It’s the Simple Things
Truly, the older I get the less it takes to thrill me.
Exhibit A: My new contact lens case.
I’m crazy in love with it.
I want one in every color, pattern, and texture. I want to collect them like my kids collected Pokemon cards and trade them with my friends. Except I just want you to give me yours so I can KEEP THEM ALL.
Y’all are probably thinking, “Wha?? I’ve always had a contact lens case.” Well, my friends, I am lame and uncultured therefore I have not. For the past 20 years I’ve been using the free white ones that come with my cleaning solution. Call me cheapskate, but I have issues with buying things I can otherwise have for free. Imagine my delight when I found this little beauty on a clearance rack for $1.5o marked down from $6. Less than 2 bucks for this aqua cuteness and my life hasn’t been the same. I am now complete in my eye care routine.
So tell me, what is your simple thing?
Love,
Lisa
Well, anything I find on really good clearance makes me happy. =)
Oh, and pumpkin pie ice cream.
You crack me up. I had no idea such a thing existed. I’ve always had the free ones too. Since I was 15. There’s cute ones?! Who knew?!
Hey, you call ’em like you see ’em. I think this is pretty cool!!!
Lisa,
I love it! Don’t show it to my daughter or she will begin to covet. That’s her favorite color.
Love ya!
Sheryl
I have actually admired those from the checkout at Walmart, but like you, I couldn’t bring myself to pay for something (really cute or not) that I got free with my solution…ha
Please tell me you didn’t get them all and where are they???? :)
Mine is pens and notebooks. Love them. Have notebooks stacked in the back room. The dollar stores feed my obsession endlessly! It’s bad. Really. But, in my defense, I do share them with others. I give some for the Joy Boxes that get made every year.
I still have alot though. I can’t help it. And pens… oooh! I love a really good, ball point that fits just perfectly in my hand. So sad. So pathetic, I am.LOL
Brooke…they are on the display in front of the Optical center…You better hurry and get one before I buy the rest of them..lol
And Danielle..Are you sure you aren’t my mom using an alias??? :)))
I love me some good pens too. I’m bad to not pay good money for them though because my kids steal them.
Y’all are hysterical..:) I knew I wasn’t the only crazy one ’round here!
strawberry twizzlers…no explanation needed.
Lisa – please don’t laugh…puleeze…. But I LOVE straws! I love them to be thick (fat) and extra long…and red if possible. The other day at the drive-through at Krystal when the little girl handed me my diet coke and that long fat red straw, I squealed. She looked at me like I had lost my mind. I told her I knew she thought I was crazy – but I just love a good straw.
I know where all the good ones are, and where the short skinny ones are too…
I keep a supply in my car. When I go to a short skinny straw drive throught, I just say “never mind, keep your straw.” I have my own…
I’ve missed you,
Georgia Jan
PS: Saw Bethie at Deeper Still Orlando this past weekend. I love her!

Jan, if it was even possible I now love you more than ever.
Did Beth ask about me? lol
Aww, I understand! It’s the simple things that make me all warm & fuzzy!
A yummy meal……sweats, a Colts football game and my family all around me.
Absolutely dreamy!
:)
Lisa I think we might be twins! Well if I were 30 years younger and 50 pounds lighter and still dyed my hair. I found that same contact lens case this week and bought one for me and one for my sister (because if I have one she will certainly want one too). But I bought the paisley one. blessings, marlene
No contacts for me, but I LOVE the case. My son uses the cheap white ones…and has them all over the house. Who knows how many contacts are really floating in solution out there??
Hope you’re having a great week.
I love pens too! I love the gel pens in pretty colors and highlighters to go with them. I also love pretty notebooks and paper. When I go in Office Depot or Staples, I’m like a kid in a candy store.
Nope… not your mom.lol
I don’t spend money on my pens either. My love affairs with them don’t last long enough.lol I always keep them, but something different catches my fancy every couple months. The best ones I’ve ever gotten were at the docs office. The one’s all the med people leave behind as advertising. Love them!!
