At long last…A “Cute Shoes” Giveaway!
Guess what?
It’s almost time for this:
(In case I forgot to mention it.)
It’s really not my intention to hijack the blog for the rest of sweet forever to talk about The Book so this post is going to be chock full o’ information and then I’m shutting up about it forever.
Or at least until the next time I bring it up.
Let’s go at this in list format:
1. Firstly, how about I give away five copies?!
You don’t have to be a ministry wife to win. In fact, my hope is that Cute Shoes is a church relationship building resource for laypeople, too. Or you can give it to your pastor’s wife as a token of your affection.
To enter, simply answer this question in the comments:
Are you typically on time for church or not? (I plead the 5th.)
You can also add up to two additional entries by Tweeting/Facebooking and/or adding a button to your blog as a link to this giveaway. The button code is in my right sidebar.
I’ll randomly choose the winners on Friday, January 22. There will also be other giveaways taking place at other blogs during the month of February. I’ll make sure you are aware of which ones.
2. Don’t forget to enter your PW in the ‘You Deserve to Pamper Yourself’ Contest. Great prizes and she can be entered more than once as long as it is by different people. Go to www.lifeway.com/cuteshoes for more info and to enter! (You can also read the first chapter on the Lifeway page.) Deadline is February 28th.
3. You are cordially invited to a real live book signing at Lifeway Christian Store at Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga, TN on February 20th, 11 AM – 1 PM EST. Truly, I kind of feel like a goober doing this but my hopes are that I may get to meet some of you girls who live in the area! And if y’all don’t come, there’s always my mother. (Mom? Helloooo, Mom? You are coming aren’t you?)
Okay, enough blabbering. Enter away!
We’re usually on time for church. Can’t wait to read your book!

Yes, I’m on time for Church…I am the Pastor’s wife. When I’m not, I hear about it…..good naturedly, of course:)
I’m usually on time, and I work really really hard to be! :)
.-= Rachel Boldman´s last blog ..Oh well. =-.
I am most always early for church. I help out in the kitchen so my goal is to be there atleast 30minutes before first service, if not earlier. Looking forward to reading your book!

So proud of you and blessed to have you as our own preacher’s wife!

Oh and Im never on time to Sunday school but now that I teach at least im early for church haha…btw.. you don’t have to put me in the drawing…ive already ordered mine! haha
I’m always a fashionable 5 minutes late. And yes, I do live in the parsonage. And yes, it is right next to the church. What? I don’t get credit for the time it takes me to walk in the cute shoes!?! :)
I am so excited about your book!

I am on time for church, if I don’t “check in” with our greeter (an older gentleman) before Sunday School he gives me a hard time about being “late”. I’ve been reading the first chapter of your book and I’m loving it. My husband will be ordained as associate pastor the end of January, so this book is coming at the perfect time. I love reading your blog.
God bless!
Jennifer
Brian and I are usually on time for church since all the kids started driving on their own (they’re usually late and they fill up the parking lot) unless we have a ‘feed’ afterward. That completely messes up my Sunday morning schedule and the food usually doesn’t turn out that great either.
PS. Goober is a great word.
i added your button to my blog!

Count me in… and, yes, always on time for church. Even early. Congrats on the book release. I know that many will be blessed by your transparent heart and superb writing, Lisa.

Does it count that in my heart I desire to be early? Unfortuately, never happens! I too, live next door…… in the parsonage and yet I am consistantly late for Sunday School. We jokingly call our class the “Latecomers” – because none of us seem to be timely =) At least we have found a bond in one another LOL!
I do not being late. I have to play occasionally so I can’t be late.
Unfortunately, I’m usually late – but it’s late to my own “time”. I always make myself think I need to be somewhere 15 minutes earlier so that I will fool myself on being on time. And even though I know I’m fooling myself – somehow, it usually works! :-)
I’m so happy for you, Lisa!!! I’ll put your button on my side bar. :-)
Jennifer
Usually early. :) I just hate being late. And, my husband is one of the pastors, so he kind of likes us to be on time. ;)
Wish I lived closer…would love to meet you in person. :) But, looking forward to reading your book!!

OOPS – When I grabbed the code for the button, on my blog it said something like Photo Bucket no longer had the image? Maybe I’m doing something wrong… I’ll try again, but wanted you to be aware????

Girl, you know I’m never on-time for ANYTHING! You are my favorite preacher’s wife, so I don’t guess I can enter you in the contest, huh? Ok, I wanna go to your booksigning, can I be the first in your official celebrity entourage? I’ll keep fresh Sharpies & Starbucks comin your way!

My husband gets us to church early but if it was left up me I would be late. Last Sunday we were there 1 hour 45 minutes early. We started a church June ’09 and so I usually get kicked out of bed about 6:30am and sometimes I have to brush my teeth when I get to church.
I’m looking forward to reading the book. This book is coming out just in time with me being new to being a senior pastor’s wife.
Thank you.
Christie
for the most part, I am on time. now, don’t ask my husband. :)
I tweeted the giveaway! :)

Well, I get to the building early with my husband, but being on time to Sunday school and service is another thing. Usually I get tied up visiting with people and showing our adorable daughter off. So I guess it’s a yes and no for me. :)

We arrive on time for church (amazingly)! I am going to post a link to this on Facebook, if I can figure out how.
Yes I’m always on time and usually 15-30 minutes early. We drive to church together and since my PH needs to be there early, I am too. I’ll admit this is a lot harder than it used to be, since we have a 3-month old. And it usually means I have to be up by 5:30 AM to get everything ready on time. Hopefully that’ll shorten over time!

This is a loaded question…depends on if I’m with my husband, with my kids, how many kids, if I’m on mic for worship, if I’m in the choir, if I’m taking the Sunday off to attend…mostly yes, I think. Mostly.

I am very anal about punctuality and this is really bad because my dear husband, the Pastor is not and we are never on time for church. It’s not like we are really late like forty minutes or so but more like ten or fifteen. It still bugs me. I prep the night before. Press my clothes and lay them out. I am prepped down to my slip, nylons and shoes. I set the coffee maker to brew in the morning and breakfast is on the table and hubby is on the computer doing some last minute editing for the sermon. IHe hasn’t even showered yet? I”m running around like a chicken without a head and he is taking his time. Hehe. I love him so much . I might add that we live five miles away from the church and have to go through a major highway that is usually filled heavily with traffic.

Sometimes I arrive at church as if a tornado just blew me in and dropped me, the baby, and diaper bag in the middle of foyer. I straighten my windswept hair as I rush into the auditorium. I get there, but just barely!
PS–my blog link didn’t work. Just for kicks, here it is:

Not on time.. it’s something I’m trying to work on though… because it’s totally my fault!
.-= Crystal´s last blog ..I’m over it. =-.
On time…I mean RIGHT on time. If it starts at 9:00 then I am screeching into the parking lot and running in at 9:00!
Congrats, again, on the new book!

I’m always late even though we live right next door. I have a good reason though with 3 little ones (5, 3, and 6 months)!!!

Early if i don’t have to haul the babies… if i haul the babies well then i’m fashionably late :) I say fashionably because we all walk in as the holy family barley put together. lol.
I blogged about it and put it in my side bar too!

I am usually on time for church…very rarely are we late. But in my opionion…better late than never!!!
I am typically on time if not early. I do the 2 and 3 sunday school so i need a little prep time for snacks and coloring pages.

I tweeted/FB, but you can take me out of the drawing. I will more than likely buy the book by the end of the week. Thank you for all you do!

Yes I’m sorta on time, we drive in the parking lot a few minutes early, but my class is the last one down the hallway and I sometimes get distracted to the time by saying hello to everyone between the door and my room. Loved reading your first chapter and love your blog!! Can’t wait to get my copy!
I am an associate pastor’s wife and I teach a Sunday School class of Senior adult women. I am getting to Sunday School by the skin of my teeth on time after dropping off the baby in the nursery and getting my four year old dropped off in his class. The 12 year old fends for herself!
Hope I win!!! I want to read this book so bad!!!!
Such fun!! But I guess I should be good and not enter since I’ll get to review it. But the one from you would be autographed!
Just blogged about the book and put your button in the sidebar of my blog!

Of course we are on time for church….or not.
Josh, where are your shoes? “Sorry Mum, I forgot.”
Hannah, you havent even brushed your hair.
We’ll be late for Sunday School, we’ve already missed prayer.
Clean your teeth and no more eating the toothpaste.
Come on, in the car, we have to make haste.
Never mind breakfast, you’ll be right for today.
All this and we only live 2 minutes away!

I’m on time…most of the time! Definitely the 11 service, of course I’m trying to make it to the 9:15 service, so you know…
Just added the big day to my calendar…even though it’s not Christmas, I’ll be there with Bells on… ;)
I also set this post as my status on fb.
.-= Patty´s last blog ..a birthday boy =-.
OK, do you mean on time as being what time the bulletin says SS starts? Or what time my class actually starts. The older people’s classes start ON TIME, but the younger people, we just start when we all get there. I’m always on time for the younger people class!
Wish I was closer to the book signing! I would stand in the back, smile big and clap my hands. I’m so proud of you and what you have accomplished. I know PW’s (Pioneer women? Nah,!) all over are going to love this book and feel refreshed after reading it!

I usually arrive in the parking lot on time or early, but I’m never “In” service on time because I just love visiting with people who are either coming or going from the other services. :)
I want to read through your book with all of our staff wives; I know it will make for some great discussion during our staff wives get-togethers. I’m looking forward to it.
